Partners,

I’ve been with the BHA for the last eight weeks, and want to convey that I am so impressed with the team here. The people are incredible, and I’m sure you see that too. Some of you may know me from the Behavioral Health Task Force that I co-chaired and know that my commitment is strong for a behavioral health system that truly meets the needs of all people of Colorado. I serve as the Executive Director of the Colorado Department of Human Services, and am the Interim Commissioner of the BHA until a permanent candidate is selected. As the Interim Commissioner, I am committed to the mission of co-creation and boldly transforming the behavioral health system.

There is much to be done, and there are opportunities coming up for us to talk about what we’re working on and, more importantly, hear from you. During my time here, I am focused on prioritizing the good work being done, making sure we are meeting legislative priorities, getting the BHA fully operational and getting out in the community to meet as many of you as possible.

I truly believe in the BHA task of bringing transformational change, and I am committed to helping the BHA be successful in meeting the needs of each person in Colorado through a system of whole-person health.

I look forward to your partnership and feedback as we work through rule making, BHASOs, supporting children youth and families, and so much more.

In health,

Michelle
