CDHS is convening a Domestic Abuse Statutory Task Force, and we are seeking applications for voting members. The task force will bring together a diverse stakeholder group to propose a definition of domestic abuse to be included in the Children's Code, which governs child protective services in Colorado. Task force membership will be limited to approximately 19 voting members, and the work of the task force will begin in April 2022 and conclude in June of 2023.
CDHS is seeking a wide range of viewpoints to critically evaluate the intended and unintended consequences of changes in statute and associated rule. Membership of the task force will represent the broad cultural and socioeconomic diversity of Colorado, including persons with relevant lived experiences and professional expertise. Staff with the Division of Child Welfare and the Domestic Violence Program at CDHS will lead the task force.
