Welcome New County Directors!

Congratulations to the following county directors who just wrapped up their new directors training! This special cohort participated in CDHS’s first effort to record new director training sessions for posting on the county portal! Although the new directors and tribal sovereignty training page is still in the process of being developed, Community Partnerships would like to share the training videos that were recorded as part of the Fall 2021 New Director Training, which can be viewed under the New director and tribal sovereignty training section tab on the county portal.

Clear Creek County: Sarah Cassano has worked in child welfare as a case worker and case worker supervisor for 17 years. She is excited to dive into her new role and learn more about allocation, budgeting, TANF, CCAP, and child support.

El Paso County: Stacie Kwitek worked for Fremont County DHS for 17 years, with thirteen of those years in Child Welfare and the remainder as Director/Interim Director.

Fremont County: Tony Carochi has been with Fremont County DHS for 15 months. Prior to this, he was the Director of the Department of Corrections, was a Vice President, Deputy Director and Warden for a private prison group, and spent a year working for the State Department at the Embassy in Mexico City assisting both governments in Prison Reform efforts. Tony has broad leadership and management experience.

Lincoln County: Andy Lorensen’s experience includes 15 years in child welfare and 10 years in adult protection, which involved overseeing finances for both programs. Andy is also the Coroner for Lincoln County.

Mesa County: Jill Calvert has been in the Child Welfare field for over 25 years, with 10 of those years practicing at the director level in Child Welfare. She most recently worked in El Paso County.
