Colorado Behavioral Health Administration (BHA) Commissioner, Dr. Morgan Medlock has been selected to join the 2022-23 class of the Milbank Fellows Program (MFP), a 9-month leadership program for senior executive branch and legislative leaders who are committed to improving population health in their states and communities. The fellowship is convened and funded by the Milbank Memorial Fund, a nonpartisan foundation focused on improving population health and health equity. The class includes 23 leaders representing 20 States.

“Each Fellow in our new cohort brings a remarkable wealth of health policy expertise as well as diversity of life experience,” said Milbank program officer Kate McEvoy, who oversees the state leadership programs. “We look forward to engaging with the Fellows and supporting them in continuous learning and the development of successful population health initiatives.”

Through MFP, Milbank, working in partnership with the Colorado Health Institute and the Public Leadership Group, will support the Fellows in gaining new knowledge about specific population health issues, interdisciplinary health and human services systems, and evidence-based approaches to improving population health.

The program aims to expand personal insight and leadership capacities to define and advance a population health vision and agenda while creating meaningful connections with a network of colleagues so they can leverage their new knowledge to take action in their states.

“Collaboration is one of the BHA’s values. Learning from others is a crucial step in building innovative solutions. I am grateful to be part of the 2022-23 class of the Milbank Fellows Program, and to bring new knowledge to the BHA,” said Dr. Medlock.
