Ascent Colorado is a community-based program that provides treatment and support to youth and young adults 15-29 years old who may be experiencing an early onset of psychosis.

Services Provided
The goal of the Ascent program is to quickly stabilize and reduce symptoms of psychosis through early intervention. The Ascent Program offers up to three years of specialized services. These services include:
- Individual, Group, and Family therapy
- Family Education and Support
- Case Management
- Specialized Education and Employment Services
- Nursing Support
- Medication Management
- Peer Support
- Community Outreach and Education
Service Eligibility
Ascent serves youth and young adults ages 15-29 who are experiencing their first episode of psychosis. Common symptoms of psychosis might be:
- Experiencing hallucinations–seeing, hearing, feeling, or tasting things that other people don’t
- Having thoughts or beliefs that appear strange
- Feeling fearful or suspicious of others
- Experiencing jumbled thoughts and speech
- Holding onto false beliefs despite evidence or proof to the contrary
Individuals may not be admitted if they show the following psychotic symptoms:
- Began more than 24 months ago
- Related to social and developmental delays
- Caused by medical/neurological disorders
- Resulting from drug or alcohol use
- Related to Bipolar disorder (experiencing extreme mood swings)
- Related to Depressive disorder (feeling low)
