The OwnPath Learning Hub lowers barriers to entering the behavioral health workforce and increases cultural competency

DENVER, CO (April 15, 2024) - The Colorado Behavioral Health Administration (BHA) is excited to announce the launch of its new OwnPath Learning Hub, a comprehensive online resource designed to provide free educational courses for behavioral health professionals, crisis and peer professionals, and interested individuals. The Learning Hub was created in response to Senate Bill 21-137.

"A highly qualified, well-trained and robust workforce is critical to a thriving behavioral health care system in Colorado. We are thrilled to be introducing this groundbreaking resource that will provide additional support and education to professionals and other communities across the state,” said Dannette R. Smith, Commissioner of BHA. “From courses that will help people learn how to fill crucial roles in the system to courses that will help existing providers improve the care that they provide, The Learning Hub is a comprehensive bank of information and a cornerstone in our efforts to improve the well being of all people in Colorado.”

The Learning Hub courses are intended to help providers expand their knowledge of mental health topics and care techniques. It is designed for a wide spectrum of users, from novice to experienced mental health providers.

The courses range from standalone modules to comprehensive curriculum bundles. Many courses are eligible for continued education credits, providing further incentive for providers in Colorado to participate and continue their behavioral health education.

Furthering our commitment to accessibility for participants, the Learning Hub is fully compatible with screen readers and other assistive technologies to ensure inclusivity for all users. Feedback mechanisms, including online forms and opportunities within course materials, allow users to provide input on the courses offered, continuously improving the platform's effectiveness.
