The BHA is grounded in addressing whole-person health & is working diligently to increase access to care and ensure that quality behavioral health services are accessible, meaningful and trusted.
The BHA provides clinical oversight of the Preadmission Screening and Resident Review Program (PASRR) a federally mandated program that screens every resident admitted to a Medicaid-certified nursing facility for known or suspected serious mental illness (SMI) and intellectual/developmental disabilities (IDD).
The BHA provides clinical oversight of the program to ensure that the people of Colorado can continue receiving quality mental health specialized services while living in a skilled nursing facility.
Colorado’s PASRR program also works to identify individuals with SMI and/or IDD who may be able to transition back into the community with the support of Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) supports.
Colorado’s PASRR vendor is looking to recruit additional contracted evaluators to perform the MMI Level II evaluation. Anyone interested should have experience with diagnostic clinical interviews and/or medical necessity determinations for behavioral health and intellectual/development disability service provisions. If you are interested in this opportunity, please check out the link below for more information. The position will be listed as "Assessor Reviewer, 1099 Consultant"
The Level II evaluation has three objectives:
- To identify if an individual, in fact, does have an MMI and/or I/DD PASRR Condition.
- Identify the appropriate level of care for the individual based on their MMI or I/DD.
- Identify appropriate Specialized Services for the individual.
Evaluations will be conducted face-to-face and in person beginning in May 2023. The individual conducting these evaluations should be willing to travel throughout their selected geographic area.
