The Division of Youth Services (DYS) is looking for candidates to fill a recently vacated DYS Central Region Community Board position. Candidates must be a resident, or work within the community region in which he or she serves. Candidates should have experience and perspectives related to incarcerated youths.
The community boards help promote transparency and community involvement in DYS, provide opportunities for youth to build positive relationships with adult role models, promote youth involvement in the community with an emphasis on expanding diversity of existing boards and the voice of communities of color towards DYS service delivery improvement. Board members serve without compensation and may not be employed by CDHS.
Board members meet quarterly for 2-3 hours per meeting. Meetings are being held virtually, but after COVID-19 restrictions are lifted, they will be held at youth centers located throughout the respective regions.
