Colorado Opioid Safety Summit covers new approaches to treatment

Feb. 24, 2020: When it comes to solving the state's opioid crisis, Colorado health care providers and organizations must be willing to embrace change. That was the takeaway from the third Opioid Safety Summit, hosted by the Colorado Hospital Association (CHA) and Colorado Department of Human Services, Office of Behavioral Health (OBH) on Feb. 11, 2020.

OBH Program Successfully Increases Treatment for Opioid Use Disorder

Jan. 17, 2020: Before large-scale federal assistance arrived to combat the opioid crisis, four organizations - Denver Health, Addiction, Research and Treatment Services, Behavioral Health Group- Longmont, and Crossroads Turning Point - stepped up to expand access to life-saving medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for people experiencing opioid use disorder (OUD).

Colorado receives $5 million to enhance mental health services for homeless youth

April 9, 2019: The Colorado Department of Human Services, Office of Behavioral Health (OBH) has been awarded the Healthy Transitions: Improving Life Trajectories for Youth and Young Adults with Serious Mental Illness grant totaling $5 million over five years. The project is funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
