New Legislation Expands Behavioral Health Transition Specialist Program

April 22, 2021: On April 20, Governor Jared Polis signed House Bill 21-1130 into law. The bi-partisan bill expands the Transition Specialist Program (TSP), which facilitates the transition of children and adults from various behavioral health and substance use treatment settings to community living.

JBBS Competency Enhancement Program Serves Individuals Awaiting Restoration Services

March 26, 2021: The Office of Behavioral Health's Jail Based Behavioral Health Services (JBBS) in collaboration with Forensic Services and jail providers has expanded services to incarcerated individuals who have been court-ordered to and are awaiting admission to inpatient competency restoration. JBBS currently has contracts with 10 counties to provide the enhanced competency services. Learn how JBBS is serving more than 90% of Colorado’s competency-involved inmates through this program.
