BHA Resource List for Boulder County During Sunshine Canyon Wildland Fire

Our thoughts are with Boulder County residents and their loved ones as the Sunshine Canyon wildland fire continues to expand in the foothills of the City of Boulder. The BHA extends its support to those who have evacuated due to the fire, are preparing to evacuate, or have been impacted in any way. We honor the brave contributions of those fighting the fire and providing emergency response.

Dr. Morgan Medlock Responds to Club Q Tragedy

From BHA Commissioner Dr. Morgan Medlock:

On November 19, 2022, our community of Colorado Springs and the LGBTQIA+ community across Colorado and the nation were touched with the pain of violence and hate as a result of the tragedy at Club Q. The tragic act of gun violence occurred alongside Transgender Day of Remembrance, an annual observance that honors the memory of transgender people whose lives have been taken in acts of violence.

Colorado Mobile Crisis Response Asks for Important Stakeholder Engagement

Ways to Engage: Mobile Crisis Response (MCR)

The Colorado Behavioral Health Administration (BHA) and the Department of Health Care Policy and Financing (HCPF) are partnering to strengthen the current Colorado crisis continuumand in particular the mobile crisis response systemby taking advantage of an option included in the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) to establish a community-based mobile crisis intervention service under Medicaid for individuals experiencing a mental health or substance use disorder crisis.

BHA Invites Behavioral Health Providers to Convene in November

Providers are essential to achieving the BHA's vision of a comprehensive, equitable, accessible and effective continuum of behavioral health services that meets the needs of all people in Colorado in the right place, at the right time, to achieve whole person health and wellbeing.

Those working as behavioral health care providers are invited to join an important conversation with Commissioner Dr. Morgan Medlock and the BHA's leadership team about the BHA and its important relationship to those who work with communities every day.
